Header Graphic 10 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hi All -

Just have a question about "The Laughable News" header . . .

When it comes out in CS3 and in print the lettering is all choppy; however, when I dump it into Photoshop and it smooths it out, I can't get it back into CS3 because it says that the image is too large.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Cliff

Hey Cliff,

Display Issue: My first thought is that it is a display issue. That would account for the squiggly lines in InDesign. Are other images looking blurred at all? You may just need to change the display settings. You can view the following post for that info: www.laughablenews.com/General-Discussion...d-I-Indesign.html#59

Fonts: You didn't mention which words were squiggly. If it is the ones you can change (ie. State, Issue #, email, etc), then it could be a missing font error. Do you get any error messages when you open the file? The two fonts used there are Tahoma, and Times.

Printing: You mentioned that it still happens when you print. Are you printing onto 11x17? or regular 8.5x11 on your home computer? If it is the latter, then the header is being shrunk to fit on the page - hence the squiggly lines.

Photoshop: Honestly, I'm not sure. Actually, I'm unsure on how you would pull the image from InDesign and open with Photoshop. Can you advise how you did it? I will then try it out and see what results I get.

If none of the above solutions work, I will provide you with a link to download the original while we figure out a solution.
